A Path Through Mighty Waters

When was the last time you felt like you were drowning in the sea of grief, or pain and agony, or confusion, or sin and temptations, or exhaustion, or…? I love Psalm 77; it encapsulates exactly how we feel when we are trapped in our emotions and feel as though there is no escape. There are days and nights filled with frustration and anger, crying and questioning, “God WHY!?”

And when you feel all has ended and there is no way out, God whispers “Remember. Remember what I have done. Remember what I can do.”

I love verses 16 to19 in this passage. “When the Red Sea saw you, O God, its waters looked and trembled! The sea quakes to its very depths. The clouds poured down rain; the thunder rumbled in the sky. Your arrows of lightning flashed. Your thunder roared from the whirlwind; the lightning lit up the world! The earth trembled and shook. YOUR ROAD LED THROUGH THE SEA, YOUR PATHWAY THROUGH THE MIGHTY WATERS – A PATHWAY NO ONE KNEW WAS THERE!”

Wow!! Whatever waters you are treading, whatever sea you are drowning in, God will make a way! He is the God of great wonders! He joys to see us through in ways we never thought were possible. He knows the way; He makes the path! And He leads us along that road “like a flock of sheep.”

Think on the wonderful deeds the Lord has done in your life. Think on the wonderful deeds He has done in days gone by. Never forget His mighty works! And keep your eyes open for those works still today!
